A PhanTASTIC Update: Reconstructing Phanerozoic global mean surface temperature using data assimilation
PhanTASTIC Postdoctoral Fellow Department of Paleobiology Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History Emily received a BS in Geology with a minor in Philosophy from Utah Valley University and completed a PhD in Earth Sciences at Syracuse University. Drawing from her background in science and philosophy, Emily is particularly interested in first-order paleoclimate questions. Her research utilizes both computational and laboratory techniques to address a broad range of topics, from experimentally determining the effects of heat on seasonally resolved geochemical signals from bivalves to using modern sea surface temperatures to demonstrate how dynamical processes might bias interpretations of paleoclimate data.
